Gaffar Gailani is a Professor in the Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Design Technology Dept at New York City College of Technology of the City University of New York. He is also the Founder and Director of the Centre of Medical Devices and Additive Manufacturing. He received his Master and PhD degrees from the City College of New York of the City University of New York. He has taught many courses including Rapid Prototyping, Stress Analysis, Computer Aided Design and many others. He has taught selected courses in New York University, and New Jersey Institute of Technology. His research areas include applications of additive manufacturing (AM) in medical devices, poro elastic materials, bone biomechanics and engineering education. His research work is supported by NASA, NSF and others.
