biography

Dr. Albert KK Chung graduated as a medical doctor at the LKS Faculty of Medicine, the University of Hong Kong in early 2000. After working in a joint public-university teaching hospital for nearly a decade as the in-charge for the Substance Abuse Clinic services and treating patients with substance misuse, Dr. Chung joined the Department of Psychiatry, LKS Faculty of Medicine as Clinical Assistant Professor in late 2017. He is currently the director of the “Substance misuse To Psychiatric disorders Program—“SToP Program”, which was established since 2018 to combat substances misuse and the related psychiatric disorder.

research interest

Dr. Chung has research interests reside in clinical psychopharmacology, and pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions in substance misuse psychiatry Under the SToP Program, the researches encompass various clinical studies involving cannabis (SToP-C), ketamine (SToP-K), and stimulants (SToP-S).
