He is an Assistant Professor in Chemical and Materials Engineering at National Yunlin university of science and Technology (Yuntech), Taiwan. Bala’s research focuses on the designing and application of organo-gelators and their supramolecular self-assemblies, development of novel fluorescent chemosensors for the selective detection of metal ions and multi-functional liquid crystalline polymers. Bala earned his PhD in chemistry from Anna University, India and then moved to Ewha womans university, South Korea as post-doctoral researcher. Prior to joing Yuntech, he was worked at National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan as post-doctoral researcher. Dr. Bala has taught graduate and master level courses in general education as well as chemical engineering at Yuntech.
