Vittoria Lopez has obtained her pharmacy degree at the University Magna Graecia of Catanzaro, Italy in 2016. Her focus is in the Research and Development of new medications in the pre-clinical phase. Specifically, she worked in the field of Computational Pharmaceutical Chemistry using in silico study at the Computer Aided Drug Design-Freie University-Berlin, Germany in 2015 and at the Pharma Center of Bonn, Germany in 2016 using in vitro study. She pursued higher education with the Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical and Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Bonn, Germany starting in 2017 and furthermore she worked as teaching assistant in Analytical Chemistry and Bio-analytical laboratory manager. Her Ph.D. research project involves the research and development of lead and tool compounds in the pre-clinical phase of drug development with a focus on analytical biochemistry, molecular pharmacology and molecular biology of key ecto-enzymes for the purinergic receptors (GPCR) as pharmacological targets for immune-oncology and development of new anticoagulant medications. Additional work on protein purification and cell biology was also performed. Dr. Vittoria Lopez has also acquired skills in validation (e.g., FDA & ICH guidelines) and development of bio-analytical methods. She is co-author of original research articles in international peer reviewed journals and participated at international conferences, in the form of published abstracts and posters. She obtained in 2021 a Micro Master® in Bioinformatic from University of Maryland-Global Campus-Largo, MD, USA and an advanced professional course in Project Management from University of Hagen, Germany. She received national and international awards and scholarships. She is also a member of the German Pharmaceutical Society.
