biography

Born in Chania of Crete, Chrysa is Lecturer of Immunology and Parasitology at the University of West Attica - Dept. of Biomedical Sciences since June 2018. She is Veterinarian and undertook her PhD on Immunology of Parasites, at the Laboratory of Parasites and Parasitic Diseases in the School Veterinary Medicine of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and in collaboration with the Laboratory of Biochemistry of Hellenic Pasteur Institute.She then worked as Post–doctoral fellow and Research Associate in the Laboratory of Biochemistry and Laboratory of Molecular Parasitology of Hellenic Pasteur Institute respectively, focusing on production of Monoclonal Antibodies and Development of new techniques for the early detection of visceral leishmaniosis.In the past, Chrysa also has been employed as a Research/ Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Applied Sciences of Athens, Dept. of Medical Laboratories, as Medical consultant in ALAPIS R&D of Immunodiagnostics focusing on clinical management and immunizations of laboratory animals (sheep, rabbits, rats), for the production of polyclonal and monoclonal antibodies, and as Veterinarian practitioner in her own private clinic.She holds a Lecturer position in Master Degree Programmes - Dept. of Biomedical Sciences, since 2017.

research interest

Her research interests include Zoonoses, Parasites and Neglected Parasitic Diseases, Immunology of Parasites, investigation of Natural Antiparasitic Products, and Homeopathic Medicines on Parasitism
