A viral infection is a multiplication of a harmful infection inside the body. Viruses will not be able to produce without the help of a host. Infections taint a host by bringing their hereditary material into the host and seizing the host inner mechanism to make more infection particles. Examples of viral infections are HIV/AIDS, Ebola, MERS, COVID, smallpox, etc.
