Chemotherapy

The term ‘Chemo’ refers to any kind of chemical or so-called drug. Treatment of cancer with drug to kill the cancerous cells is the main concept of chemotherapy. For some treatments like radiation or any kind of cancer surgery, they are specified to certain part of the body unless in the case of chemotherapy it acts on whole body. It stops the fast multiplication of cells even healthy cells especially belonging to skin, intestines, hair, bone marrow. The chemotherapy is suggested for the cancer patients to lessen the symptoms, mostly to cure or may be to control. In most common cases only chemotherapy is not suggested it is always used in the combination to radiation, surgery or other kind of surgeries. There are different kinds of chemotherapy based on the stage of the tumour and condition of the patient. Neoadjuvant chemotherapy is one kind of chemotherapy which is given to the patient before undergoing surgery or radiation therapy in order to reduce the size of the tumour cells. Adjuvant chemotherapy is one kind of chemotherapy which I given to the patient after the surgery or the radiation r biological therapy in order to complete destroy the tumour cells. It is also useful to control or completely stop the spread of tumour to other parts of the body.
