Metastasis

Metastasis is a condition which can be simply defined as the spread of cancerous or tumorous cells from the place it started to the new part of the body or the organ and spreading through the body. The new site which the tumour spreads is the site of metastases. The metastasis is considered as the hall mark of the cancer because of its property of spreading and invading from one tissue to its neighbouring tissues. Although there is a contrasting property of the cancer like being benign, in most of the cases it is found to be metastasis. Generally, this condition is noticed at the behind time stages in cancer as the invading or circulating cancer cells will be reaching the bone marrow or the lymphatic tissues giving the system even more complications in the later stages. The development of the primary cancer to metastasis occurs through various routes with different factors contributing in which the important routes are trans coelomic, lymphatic, hematogenous, canicular spread. The treatments are available the same as the cancer, but research is going to stop the metastasis with early detection by the treatment.
