Ovaries are the reproductive parts in the women which are responsible for releasing the egg through the fallopian tubes for fertilization which further forms into foetus. The women with the family history of cancers and BRCA gene mutations can avoid the risk of ovarian cancer if they get their ovaries removed. The proper use of contraception and the gynaecological surgeries are primarily available to reduce the risk of ovarian cancer. Unless for the more specialised ovarian cancer the more specialized treatments are imposed or else the very general cancer treatments like chemotherapy and radiation therapy are commonly used in the treatment of ovarian cancer.
