biography

I have the training, expertise and motivation necessary to optimally carry out the duties of proposed instructor/research scientist position. I have a broad background in Radiation Oncology with over 10 years of clinical experience starting from 2009 when I initiated residency in Egypt till 2015 when I started my fellowship at Radiation Oncology department in Henry Ford Cancer Institute in the US. In addition, as a PI or a co-investigator on many clinical, epidemiological and new techniques/emerging technologies research projects; as well as my Master of Science and PhD theses; I gained enough knowledge and research experience that contributes to my new role. Besides, I am one of the founders and currently I am the manager for our institutional head and neck cancer electronic database of more than 1000 patients diagnosed over 15 years which prospectively maintained with timely updates and quality assurance. This resulted in a multi-institutional project and many recognizable productions. Also, I share in updates and maintenance for the in-house uterine cancer with >2500 cases along 25 years. Furthermore, I have participated in many projects related to emerging technologies and radiation planning software. In all of these projects, I work collaboratively with leadership and supervise volunteers and research students. This resulted in many awards and a multitude of accepted publications, oral presentations and posters that were presented successfully in national and international high-tier meetings. Besides, I am a reviewer for many medical journals and had been a judge for Henry Ford research symposium for many years. I have and am actively participating in granted projects and in applying for governmental grants and I am also sharing colleagues in a multi-institutional Consortium for COVID-19 and Cancer. As a result of the previous experiences, I am willing to participate in that application that builds logically to my previous work and will allow me to uphold my role in cancer research
