Dr P Karthikeyan, is an Indian Otorhinolaryngologist, Medical Academician, Researcher and Professor with over 20 years of experience in working at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Mahatma Gandhi Medical College and Research Institute, a Pondicherry based Medical College Hospital providing excellence in Medical and Academic Services in India. Dr. P Karthikeyan was born in the south Indian state of Tamil Nadu, and graduated in medicine from Thanjavur Medical College in January 1997. He continued his studies at the Madras Medical College with a DLO in the year 2000 followed by DNB(ENT) 2001 from the same Institute.

Dr. P. Karthikeyan was phenomenal in the development of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery at Mahatma Gandhi Medical College and Research Institute and was honored as the Longest Serving and Most Dedicated Faculty in 2019 by the University. He has been invited as Guest faculty and Guest Speaker for many National and International programmes which includes being nominated as the guest speaker for an Instructional Session on “ Innovations for the removal of challenging airway foreign bodies” at BACO International 2018, Manchester Central UK. He has also moderated and chaired various academic and Live Surgical Sessions in different National Conferences. He has got several awards and honors to his credit which includes being selected as the Most Popular Teacher of the University at Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth Deemed to be University in 2014. He has also served as the Member of Academic Council, Member of Board of Studies for UG and PG curriculum, Member of Board of Management and Sports Convenor at SBV University. He was a member of the governing body of the Cuddalore Chapter of Indian Medical Association between 2010 and 2018. 18 Scientific papers and 14 posters presented at national and state level, with 2 Gold Medals for PG paper presentation, I prize in PG poster presentation, I prize in UG paper presentation at national level, II prize in UG quiz at south zone level and III prize in UG poster presentation.

He has published over 50 articles in peer reviewed national and international journals of which about 30 articles are in International Journals and has one copyright to his credit. He is the reviewer of almost 9 International Journals and many National Journals which includes the Indian Journal of Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery (IJOHNS). He reviewed three chapters in different national and international textbooks on the subject. He has involved in various Intramural and Extramural Research activities in the last 20 years of his ENT career. He has also served as an Internal and External Examiner for Various Universities in India for both Undergraduate and Postgraduate students. He has attended various National and International Conferences and presented academic papers and posters. He organized Mega event 2005, Ist South Zone and IX Tamil Nadu & Pondicherry states ENT conference held at Pondicherry during September 2005. Dr. P Karthikeyan has served as an Organizing Secretary for IASSACON 2018, NAMSCON 2018 and International Health Research Convention IHRC 2019 which were great success and conducted many live surgical workshops.

Apart from being great Surgeon and an Academician, his field of interest includes sports and has Won Silver medal for Tennis doubles and Gold medal for Volley ball at IMA Tamil Nadu State North zone and East zone Sports Meet in 2017.
