Otology

Otology is the branch of medical science which deals with the study anatomy and physiology of the ears, hearing vestibular system and related structures and functions along with related their diseases, diagnosis, and treatment. Otologic surgery generally refers to the surgery of the middle ear and most of the related to ionic media such as Tympanoplasty, Air drum surgery, Ossciculoplasty, and surgery of the hearing bone. Otolaryngologists diagnose, treat, sometimes prevent and educate in the following areas: Hearing Disorders, Balance and Vertigo Disorders, Facial Nerve Disorders, Ear Infections, Tumors of the Ear or Ear Nerves, Ear Pain.Most of the otology and neurotology surgeons are globally familiar with the skill to afford pioneering ear surgical treatment including:

  • Cholesteatoma (an irregular skin growth in the middle ear);
