Pediatric Endocrinology is the medical subspecialty which deals with the study of diseases of the endocrine system in the children, such as diabetes and growth disorders. The endocrine system includes the glands which produce hormones that help in the regulation of important bodily functions in the children such as a child’s growth and development. The doctor who specializes in dealing with the diagnosis and treatment of children with diseases of the endocrine system, such as diabetes and growth disorders is known as Pediatric Endocrinologist.

Pediatric endocrinologists analyze, treat, and oversee hormonal scatters including the following:

  • Growth issues, for example, short height
  • Early or deferred pubescence
  • Enlarged thyroid organ (goiter)
  • The underactive or overactive thyroid organ
  • Pituitary organ hypo/hyperfunction
  • Adrenal organ hypo/hyperfunction
  • Ambiguous private parts/intersex
  • Ovarian and testicular dysfunction
  • Diabetes
  • Low glucose (hypoglycemia)
  • Obesity
  • Problems with Vitamin D (rickets, hypocalcemia)
