Pediatrics Allergy & Asthma

The physiological reactions caused when immune system is reacted to to specific foreign substance by inhalation, touching or eaten by a person is known as allergy and when it is caused to pediatrics it is known as pediatric allergy. Allergies are more common in children as compared to human beings of all ages. Substances that trigger the allergic reactions in the body are known as allergens. Some of the allergens include:

  • Tree, grass and weed pollens 
  • Natural rubber latex (protein)
  • Molds
  • Dust mites
  • Animal protein (dander, urine, oil from skin)
  • Foods
  • Medicines
  • Feathers 
  • Insect stings 
  • Cockroach droppings and body parts

Pediatrics Asthma or childhood asthma is also most common among the infants and children’s. Asthma causes coughing, wheezing and chest tightness in the children. Chronic disorders are caused due to obstruction in the air flow to the lungs and gets inflamed.

Symptoms of childhood asthma will be:

  • Shortness of breath
  • Chest congestion
  • Frequent coughing
  • Trouble in sleeping
  • Fatigue due to poor sleep
