biography

Dr. ChaBum Lee is currently an assistant professor of Mechanical Engineering at Texas A&M University (TAMU). Prior to joining TAMU in 2018, he was an assistant professor of Mechanical Engineering at Tennessee Technological University from 2015 to 2018. Also, He was a research associate at the University of South Carolina from 2013 and 2015. Also, he has a few years of industrial experience prior to jumping into academia.  His current research interest includes dimensional metrology, advanced manufacturing, dynamic systems and controls, and sensors and instrumentation.

·         Interferometry for length, surface and volume measurements.

·         Machine tool metrology.

·         Semiconductor metrology and inspection.

·         Dynamic system (mechatronics) metrology and inspection.

·         Robotic machining processes.

·         Magnetic/Optical spectroscopy.

·         Precision manufacturing (includes machining, MEMS fabrication, R2R, 3D printing).

·         Sensors and instrumentation (for dimensional measurement).

·         Precision machine design (includes machine tools, spindles, flexures, etc).

·         Smart materials and structures (sensing, actuation and energy harvesting).

·         Water quality monitoring and its instrumentation(for water contaminants).
